Born in New Zealand, Hannah Tunnicliffe is a self-confessed nomad. She has lived in Canada, Australia, England, Macau, and, while traveling Europe, a camper van named Fred. She currently lives in New Zealand with her husband and two daughters and coauthors the blog “Fork and Fiction,” which explores her twin loves—books and food. Season of Salt and Honey is her second novel.

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Grasp the nettle.

Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?

A. Happiness = a cup of tea + a book. Perfect happiness might have to include healthy kids, happy husband, a slice of cake, a visit from my sister, a monthly subscription to an interiors magazine and a writing room with easy access to a kettle.

Q. If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?

A. Cake. No, bread. No, hang on, fruit. Cheese? Aw, that is such a mean question.

Q. What’s your fantasy profession?

A. Employed by Oprah, travelling the world interviewing remarkable creative women about their work and lives.

Q. What’s your greatest flaw?

A. I can worry somewhat obsessively.
