Hannah Tunnicliffe

Born in New Zealand, Hannah Tunnicliffe is a self-confessed nomad. She has lived in Canada, Australia, England, Macau, and, while traveling Europe, a camper van named Fred. She currently lives in New Zealand with her husband and two daughters and coauthors the blog “Fork and Fiction,” which explores her twin loves—books and food. Season of Salt and Honey is her second novel.

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Grasp the nettle.

Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?

A. A wet bath mat left on the bathroom floor.

Q. What are your most overused words or phrases?

A. In speech: "Like..." (shudder, I know) In my writing: too many to keep track. I am working on diversification!

Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?

A. Happiness = a cup of tea + a book. Perfect happiness might have to include healthy kids, happy husband, a slice of cake, a visit from my sister, a monthly subscription to an interiors magazine and a writing room with easy access to a kettle.

Q. What are your 5 favorite songs?

A. Anything from "Rumours" by Fleetwood Mac, An Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong duet, "Never Let Me Go" by Evermore (my wedding song), "I Got Life" by Nina Simone and the "When I'm Gone" cover by Fiona Apple.
