My Life in 8 Words

Author Revealed

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. I've been telling myself "Life is Good" every day since long before there was a clothing company with that name

Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?

A. I'd like to meet Charles Darwin and have him tell me, in detail, about all his adventures sailing around the world and how the concept of evolution came to him.

Q. With whom in history do you most identify?

A. Teddy Roosevelt (the namesake of Teddy Fitzroy in Belly Up). He was always up for adventure, always learning, loved his family and founded the National Park System.

Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?

A. There's a lot of things that make me happy.  Spending time with family and friends.  Traveling to amazing places. Encountering animals in the wild.  So perhaps the most perfect thing I could imagine would be taking my family someplace amazing, like Glacier National Park or the Serengeti in Africa.

Q. What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?

A. Hiking
