Where can I find reading group guides?Books with reading group guides are marked on the book detail pages. The guides are often available to print to use in your book club. You can also find guides on the Community page or browse a list of all books with reading group guides.
Where can I find teaching guides, activity sheets, planning calendars and teaching resources?Teachers and librarians for grades K-12 can still find our teaching guides, activity sheets, planning calendars, book award information and reading group guides at teach.simonandschuster.net.
What is RSS? How do I sign up?RSS Feeds allow you to get up-to-the-minute news on your favorite Simon & Schuster authors. RSS feeds are automatically updated as new information is posted to our site. To subscribe, just click on the RSS button and select the RSS reader you use, or cut and past the feed URL into your reader. You can view RSS feeds through later versions of Microsoft Outlook, MyYahoo, Google Reader, and dedicated RSS readers such as Newsgator or Bloglines.
We are changing our newsletter program to serve you better. Current subscribers to newsletters, such as History or Mystery, will now receive the new Simon & Schuster Monthly Update, which will include title selections based on your current newsletter preferences as well as the latest book releases, author news, and videos from Simon & Schuster. What is the difference between a Newsletter and an Alert?A Simon & Schuster Newsletter provides you with information based on your interests. Newsletters are generally sent monthly. Sign up at the Newsletters & Alerts Center. Email Alerts provide you with more frequent updates about a specific author (or series). You can sign up for Alerts on your favorite author's page (or series page).
We've changed our message boards to provide an improved community discussion forum. Now you can view topics, start your own discussion and meet other readers with similar interests on any book, series or author pages on SimonandSchuster.com. You can also find message boards on the Community page. Be sure to tag posts with relevant topics so people can find them easily.
What happened to my previous posts on the old message boards?We have moved most of the posts from our previous message boards into the new forums section. Unfortunately, we were not able to save every discussion. You can access the new message boards on the Community page.
Can I still log in to the Message Boards and post using my old username?Yes, usernames and passwords from the old message boards have been preserved. If you are already registered, login with your existing username and password.
How do I add a new post to the Message Boards?You can start a new topic or reply to a thread by clicking on "Post a New Topic" button. Before you can post, you will need to complete a simple one-time only registration process. Once you're registered, you can post replies or start a new discussion if there are no topics for your favorite author, book, or series.
What does "tagging" mean?Tagging is a new function that allows users to "tag" or associate their posts with different keywords so that they appear on any and all relevant book, author, and series pages.
I just want to reply to an existing message board topic; do I still need to register?Yes, registration is required before you can post any topic or reply.
Can I add an avatar or a signature to my post? What about HTML?Our messages boards support Gravatars avatars. Sign up for a FREE gravatar.com account -- all that's required is your email address. Once you've signed up you can upload your avatar image and soon after you'll start seeing it on our message boards as well as other gravatar-enabled sites.
We do support signatures, which appear at the end of each of your posts. While we do not currently support HTML within posts, we do offer simple options for adding links, quotes, snippets of code, italics, bold and lists.
Why did my post get deleted?Our moderators reserve the right to remove any post that contains offensive language or is considered off-topic.
How do I report an inappropriate post to a moderator?Click the "Report" link next to the offending post to flag the it for review by the community moderator.
Can I search posts for a specific subject or keyword?Yes, you can use the search box on the message boards page to perform a full text search of the forums.
Can I edit a post after it has been submitted?You can edit your post for up to 60 minutes. After that time, the post is locked. Only the community moderator can edit the posts.
