Melissa Crowton is an illustrator originally from Utah, where there were a lot of empty roads and open skies to look at while growing up, but not much else. She found traveling by book to be a quite agreeable alternative, and has been living amongst stories ever since. She has illustrated various books for toddlers and young children. Outside of books, she has worked on various projects with the Google Doodle team, including design and art direction on projects celebrating the life of Maya Angelou and Fred Rogers. Melissa’s work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, Creative Quarterly, and American Illustration. She was also the portfolio showcase winner at SCBWI’s 2017 Winter NYC conference.
