And Nick

About The Book

Nick isn’t sure what he wants—and that’s okay! Youngest siblings and late bloomers will be delighted by this charming and reassuring picture book.

There are four mice brothers: Rick, Mick, Vick…and Nick!

Nick is the youngest, and while his brothers each know exactly what they want, Nick is never quite sure. Which color shirt is the nicest? What does Nick want to eat? Which flower will be best to pick from the meadow? Nick doesn’t know! But…

He might just be waiting for the right moment to bloom.

Raves and Reviews

"The father-daughter creative team's little mouse family is warm and sweet.... The lively acrylic illustrations are rendered in soft, clear colors on a lightly textured background and move speedily across double-page spreads. Treacle and honey are assiduously avoided, leaving gentle reassurance for self-doubting little readers. Charming, encouraging, and delightful. Go, Nick!"

– Kirkus Reviews, March 2015

"Leonid Gore (Worms for Lunch?) collaborates with his daughter on a story about a late-blooming mouse.... Gore’s cheery palette, delicately textured rendering, and expert pacing show...a skilled illustrator.... He makes it seem like there’s a lot more going on than initially meets the eye—kind of like Nick himself."

– Publishers Weekly, April 2015
