Breath is a universal vital sign displaying your health; it’s a tool you can employ anytime and anywhere. But in the modern era, breath is under attack from stress, disease, air pollution, global instability, and the environmental trappings of progress that immobilize our bodies at desks, in cars, and on couches. You can still breathe under this pressure, but it slowly whittles away at your health, impacting every system of your body. Reversing bad breathing habits is life-changing, and you can harness your breath for health so that every aspect of you rebounds toward optimal function.

Jill Miller is the co-founder of Tune Up Fitness Worldwide and a foremost thought-leader in applying fascial research along with novel breathing strategies that literally change the foundational texture of your fascia and other tissues. Her scientifically supported methods reduce stress, balance posture, adjust scar tissue, improve performance, and transform the nervous system. In Body by Breath, she gives you all of the tools to harvest the power of breath for optimal physical, mental, and emotional health. This book shows you how to map the way you breathe and identify which parts of your body are helping or hurting your breathing efficiency, from foot to face to feelings.

You’ll develop more body awareness and trigger a cascade of positive effects, including:

  • improved digestion and sleep
  • enhanced cognitive function
  • an elastically strong core
  • supercharged recovery power
  • pain and injury self-help

Jill shows you how to treat breathing and self-massage as forms of self-care, with a treasure chest of new tools and practices to incorporate into your daily life that help transform your relationship to trauma.

Body by Breath is complete with a step-by-step guide to each exercise, full-color photos, and real-life success stories from people who have used Jill’s techniques. It also includes a special section for pregnant women that shows how to utilize breathwork for performance and recovery before, during, and after childbirth.

Embrace your innate power of breath to unlock recovery, embodiment, and resilience.
