About The Book

"Grubbs is the new Calvin & Hobbes!" - GEEKS + GAMERS

"Grubbs is like a modern day Dennis The Menace -- hilarious, with heart. Max Weaver and Ted Dawson have taken the classic concept of a kid with a big imagination, and added the ups and downs of a big brother and sister to torment (and sometimes protect) him." - JOHN GALLAGHER, author of MAX MEOW: CAT CRUSADER

Meet eight-year old Billy Watson, a pint-sized chaos agent who received the unwanted nickname “Grubbs” from his big brother Zane. Grubbs’ favorite pastime is tormenting Zane, his older sister Courtney, the neighborhood twin girls, and anyone else that crosses his path. Grubbs’ best pal, confidante, and advisor is his imaginary friend Tyler. Join in for some good clean fun as Grubbs’ concocts his schemes to get even, get ahead, and just get by. Based on a true story!

Max Weaver's Grubbs is a chaotic cross between Calvin & Hobbes and Dennis The Menace, an old school throwback with a modern spin illustrated by veteran newspaper cartoonist Ted Dawson (Spooner).

About The Author

Max Weaver grew up the youngest of four children. His three siblings were significantly older and busy with their teenage lives when Max started elementary school. Max’s brother nicknamed him “Grubbs” because he “reminded him of a Grubb worm.” Many of the stories in Grubbs are based on actual events.

About The Illustrator

Ted Dawson began his cartooning career when he was asked to draw pictures for his sixth-grade yearbook. When he grew up, he made a newspaper comic strip called Spooner and has also illustrated several children’s books.
