About The Book

The essential behind-the-scenes guide for all F1 fans

F1 racing has never been more popular, with many grands prix attracting record attendances of several hundred thousand, 80 million people watching each race on television, and social media followers exceeding 100 million. The appetite for ‘behind-the-scenes’ access has grown as well — hence this book. How F1 Works shines a spotlight on every area of the sport, from the minutiae of team operations to the construction of a circuit, from the workings of the ‘cost cap’ to the intricacies of hosting a race. The book then looks at how all the various elements and roles come together over a race weekend to put on the spectacle of a grand prix. All F1 fans will find this book a deeply rewarding and informative companion that will enhance their appreciation of the world’s most glamorous sport.
