About The Book
From the mind of writer Barry Gifford (Wild at Heart, Lost Highway), adapted by That Texas Blood's Chris Condon and a rotating cast of visionary artists—including Brian Level (Poison Ivy), Alexandre Tefenkgi (The Good Asian), Artyom Topilin (I Hate This Place) and Marco Finnegan (The Keeper)—come four interconnected stories of convicts, lost souls, and human monsters journeying through a labyrinth of perversion, religious dogma, and murder in the Deep South.
A pair of murderous lovers in Florida carrying out a bloody agenda. A perverse political and religious power struggle between a brother and a sister. An easygoing drifter who suddenly finds himself a fugitive on the run. And a bright-eyed young girl discovering her place in the cold dark world. At the end of the twentieth century, chaos and horror were the American dream.
Collecting Night People #1–4.

Raves and Reviews
“A scabrous, booze- and vengeance-fueled ride on the wild side… Fans of Southern gothic will rejoice.”
– Publishers Weekly
"Gifford’s madcap, macabre stories may feature ritualistic murder, kidnappings, violent automobile collisions, and other assorted calamities, but Condon and his collaborators prove less interested in eliciting prurient thrills than in exploring doomed love, the power of belief, and moral decay."
– Library Journal
“Intriguing and violent.”
– IGN
“A pulpy, scuzzy, addictive read that skillfully contains Barry Gifford's essence.”
– Comic Book Couples Counseling
“Sometimes, life just calls for a gritty comic that defies all reason and sanity. An unapologetic deep dive into the minds of the ruthless and depraved. Night People satisfies that desire within the first few panels… readers will want to revel in the intense genius of this comic book literary masterpiece.”
– Fanbase Press
“Night People is the sort of comic book one devours as much with the eyes as with the mind. Each panel is an opera, a ballet of brutality and beauty… Whether or not you’re familiar with Gifford’s source material, Night People is worth the experience alone. Condon’s writing and the art from Level and Pattison is not for the faint of heart, but well worth it in the end.”
– Capes and Tights
“Raw and gritty.”
– Comicbook.com
“I absolutely loved this [..] It’s just such a different and engrossing sort of comic."
– The Comics Beat
“Writer Chris Condon takes Gifford’s novel, paring it down through the variety of director-like camera angles and character focus… Night People is an interesting ride.”
– Comic Crusaders
