Raves and Reviews

"Of Monsters and Menses reads like a Midnight Society meeting in a bar bathroom, haunted by the specter of disillusioned adulthood. Every clever spin on classic horror tropes in this shapeshifting collection put a big dumb grin on my face."

Brian McAuley, USA Today Bestselling author of Breath In, Bleed Out and Candy Cain Kills

"Maisie Culver's anthology OF MONSTERS AND MENSES is a fountain of blood and delightfully dark humor, set where every great story of our generation has been told: between strangers in a women’s room. This book is Heathers by way of Cronenberg, in the best way possible. In subjects ranging from the horrors of women’s health care to the inherent grooming nature of vampires, Culver's writing is razor sharp, specific and wonderfully unsettling. She casually drops deep insights on the feminine experience with equal measures of glitter and gore. This book doesn't march to its own beat, it sachays, and the beat f*cking slaps."

Dani Parker, screenwriter of Netflix's Midnight Mass, Peacock's Hysteria!, and Amazon's Carrie

"Maisie Culver delivers a wicked brew of funny, frightening stories about the monsters we meet in everyday life. Like your best friend telling you she just got dumped by her boyfriend. Oh, and she’s also a vampire now. A perfect mix of funny and frightening."

Scott Thomas, author of KILL CREEK, showrunner of DAY OF THE DEAD

"Sometimes scary, oftentimes funny, but always unhinged... this horror anthology felt like a slot machine of mischief."

Hakim Hill, screenwriter of HYSTERIA! and THE ‘BURBS
