About The Book

The WellieWishers, as seen on Amazon Prime, confront a cranky dragon in this magical chapter book. Includes full-color illustrations and tips for parents.

Ashyln leads her friends, The WellieWishers, in a game of make believe. They’re fairy princesses in an enchanted castle, but their fun is interrupted by a grumpy dragon. The girls try wishes and spells to make the dragon go away, but nothing works. When Willa uses the magic of kindness, their troubles turn into an unexpected friendship.

The book includes a nonfiction “For Parents” section about the key themes in the book: friendship, imagination, empathy, patience, and kindness.

The WellieWishers chapter books are written by Valerie Tripp, who has a Master of Education degree from Harvard University. She is the author of several beloved American Girl historical character books including Felicity, Josefina, Samantha, Kit, Molly, and Maryellen.

About The Author

Valerie Tripp says that she became a writer because of the kind of person she is. She says she’s curious, and writing requires you to be interested in everything. Talking is her favorite sport, and writing is a way of talking on paper. She’s a daydreamer, which helps her come up with her ideas. And she loves words. She even loves the struggle to come up with just the right words as she writes and rewrites. Ms. Tripp lives in Maryland with her husband.
