Anju Gupta is a highly decorated Indian Police Service officer who superannuated at the highest rank of Director General of Police after thirty-four years of experience in a variety of field and desk jobs. Her long years in senior positions in law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh and in the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India have helped her gain unique expertise and insight into security threats and factors that shape the security environment. She has also served with the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) in Kosovo, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Bangkok and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Delhi in the area of security. Gupta has also earned a formidable reputation in the past several years as a columnist on contemporary geopolitical and security issues.
