Elsa Martins

Elsa Martins has a background in photography and graphic design graduating with a Master’s Degree in Communication Design. The delicacy and humanity that is evident in her work is reflective of her personality. “I want to make other people happy”, she declares firmly. She has a very instinctual approach, often being so immersed in the illustration that she couldn’t say where the inspiration came from. “Most of the time I just do what feels right. But knowing what feels right comes from experience.” She has created books for Usbourne, Familius Publishing, Workman Publishing, Éditions Lito, S&S Alliance, and Alfarroba. Elsa lives in Setubal, Portugal with her dog ‘Tosta’ (Portuguese for Toast!)
