Esme Smith is the apprentice curator at IWM, primarily working with the museum’s Sound Archive. A Cambridge history graduate, she previously worked with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission as a guide on the Western Front, and has since contributed to various IWM projects, including the 2026 exhibition Beauty and Destruction: Wartime London in Art.
