Born in 1938, in Busan, Korea, Oh Gwangsu is an art historian and writer. He served as the editor-in-chief of SPACE and was the Korean commissioner for the Venice Biennale in 1997. He has taught Korean modern and contemporary art history at Hongik University, Ewha Womans University, and Chung-Ang University. He served as chairman of the Arts Council Korea and as director of Whanki Museum; the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea; and Museum SAN.
