About The Book

A creative and poetic picture book about a tiny spring which turns into a roaring river, told from the perspective of five curious pinecones.

High up in the mountains, the majestic river begins with the tiny trickle of a spring. The trickle becomes a stream that flows merrily down into the valley, carrying five pinecones along on an adventure. They overcome waterfalls, cross valleys and towns, and time and again, one of the cones finds a place where it feels at home. Before the last cone drifts out onto the endless sea, a wave washes it ashore. Where will it finally take root?

A sweet environmental picture book about how rivers become oceans, and how all of us find a home along their banks, available as a beautiful new edition from NorthSouth Books.
